Luckily for you there are countless ways to block a number. With today's technology usually all that is required is the press of a few buttons or a simple phone call.


Stop Annoying Telemarketers
One of the most annoying of all calls is that of a telemarketer. They seem to always call at the most inconvenient time and are often rude and never take no for an answer. Now with the National Do Not Call Registry (NDNCR) which was administered by the Federal Trade Commission, most all telemarketing calls can be brought to a complete stop. Blocking Personal Phone Numbers
When the annoying ex keeps calling or some random drunk keeps calling to order a pizza, blocking a phone number can mean the difference in a good nights rest or falling asleep at work the next day. Blocking a personal number can be done different ways. For land line phones devices called inbound call blockers allow only phone numbers that you have selected to get through. They can be set for certain times of day or blocking only certain numbers. Another option is asking your phone service for a call screening or call blocking service. Most phone services will provide this for a small fee and usually can be bought in a package deal with other services like caller id, call waiting etc. for an even bigger discount. 


Blocking Someone From Calling Your Cell
Blocking someone from calling your cell phone can be a little more difficult.  The choices here can be a little slimmer unless you have one of the newer smart phones capable of downloading apps. Ones like the IPhone, Android, Blackberrys and a dozen others will have an app store or market for you to purchase apps and some applications are even free. Simply go to the app store and search for call blockers or call screening and read the user reviews and details untill you find one that best suits you.


Block Your Number From Being Viewed By Others
If you wish your number to remain annonamous when placing a call from yoru home phone simple dial *67 before you dial the number you want to call. Wait for the dial tone again then dial the number as usual. When the party recieves the call their caller ID will show up as either private call or unknown number.


With all the things out today blocking a phone number is not difficult, but often necessary, for a peaceful day and to ratain your sanity.
